JOSH LOCY, writer/director, was born in the mountains of Virginia, studied literature in east Tennessee and, after deciding against becoming a Southern Baptist minister, moved to Los Angeles in 2004 to pursue his dream of making feature films.
Once in LA, it didn’t take long for Josh to get work in the film industry, working on commercials and independent films. In 2007, Josh became the assistant to David Gordon Green, and has worked with him on three of his films.
In 2010, through his work in film and commercials, Josh became a member IATSE local 800, the Art Director’s Guild, and has worked in this capacity for many great filmmakers including David O. Russell, Chris Smith, and Peter Berg, among many others. His work as a production designer, while in itself a true creative outlet, has increased Josh’s film knowledge and fueled his passion for making films.
Hunter Gatherer is Josh’s first film.
APRIL LAMB is an LA-based producer who works alongside celebrated artist and film director Steve McQueen. She joined him on both the Camera d’Or-winning SHAME and 12 YEARS A SLAVE, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. She was also a co-producer throughout development and production on McQueen’s pilot for HBO, Codes of Conduct.
Most recently she produced the film HUNTER GATHERER, directed by Josh Locy, executive-produced by David Gordon Green and Rough House Pictures, and starring Andre Royo (The Wire). It will premiere in competition at South by Southwest.
April is currently working with writer/director Sebastian Silva (NASTY BABY, CRYSTAL FAIRY, THE MAID) on multiple features and television series.
SARA MURPHY most recently completed principal photography on Dustin Guy Defa’s, HUMAN PEOPLE which shot in NYC this past fall and stars Michael Cera, Abbi Jacobson, Tavi Gevinson and Philip Baker Hall. She produced alongside David Lowery’s company Sailor Bear with Joe Swanberg’s Forager Films and Bow and Arrow Entertainment executive producing.
Sara produced HUNTER GATHERER by first-time filmmaker Josh Locy, which stars Andre Royo (THE WIRE) and was executive produced by David Gordon Green and Rough House Pictures. She also produced the international co-production, MORRIS FROM AMERICA, written and directed by Chad Hartigan and starring Craig Robinson and Carla Juri, which filmed in Berlin, German, was co-produced by Beachside Films/Lichtblick Media and premiered in competition at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released by A24 in summer of 2016. She produced LAND HO!, directed by Aaron Katz and Martha Stephens which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and was released worldwide by Sony Pictures Classics.
Sara also co-produced John Slattery's directorial debut GOD'S POCKET, starring John Turturro, Richard Jenkins and Philip Seymour Hoffman, which also premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2014 and was released by IFC Films. She was an associate producer of Philip Seymour Hoffman's directorial debut, JACK GOES BOATING, and had been the head of development for Mr. Hoffman's company, Cooper's Town Productions, based in New York City.
Sara was awarded the 2016 Amazon Sundance Producers’ Award at the festival this year, alongside Adele Romanski. She is a 2014 IFP/Rotterdam Lab Producing Fellow and received the John Cassavetes Independent Spirit Award in 2015 for LAND HO!.
Her other film production credits include CAPOTE, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III, THE SAVAGES, BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD, CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR, SYNECDOCHE, NY and DOUBT.
JON AGUIRRESAROBE, cinematographer, studied Fine Arts focusing in Painting and Photography at the prestigious San Fernando School at the Complutense University of Madrid. After completing his degree, he spent 4 years polishing his skills as an Art Director on pre-productions, as well as a Still Photographer, and Assistant Director on set for renowned commercial directors like Alejandro Toledo during numerous commercials, such as Buckler, Telefonica, Ford, Toyota, Kia and California Lotto among others.
Jon later graduated, in 2010, as a Cinematographer from the prominent American Film Institute and since then he has shot narrative, commercial, and documentary films. One of his short films “The Gunfighter”, directed by Eric Kissack, won several awards at film festivals like the Los Angeles Film Festival, Seattle Film Festival, DC Shorts, and Palm Springs Short Fest along some others. Some of his work include commercial campaigns for Epson, Idaho Health Care, Blue Cross and Optimum along with Documentaries for Discovery Channel and Fusion Tv. Jon also has two features films coming out in 2016 “People You May Know” and “Hunter Gatherer”. He is currently prepping his next feature “Everybody loves Somebody”.
Over the past 4 years, KEEGAN DEWITT has brought 8 films to the Sundance Film Festival. His recent collaborations have gone on to garner an Academy Award, a Sundance Audience Award, 3 NY Times Critic’s Picks and an Independent Spirit Award. They help comprise a resume steeped in signature collaborations with daring and acclaimed young directors, creating works that are unquestionably unique.
From the disintegrated orchestral operas of “This Is Martin Bonner” to the NY-drenched live jazz arrangements of “Listen Up Philip”; the urgent and touching “Life According To Sam (HBO)” to the hip hop and EDM of “Morris From America", DeWitt has built a name as a chameleon-like voice for the definitive characters and directors of the films he tackles.
